Internet Use Policy
Policy for using computers and the internet.
The Keller Public Library will comply with Missouri’s Statutes regarding internet use, with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and RSMo 182.825, RSMo 182.827. This policy shall be publicly displayed at the circulation desk. The Internet Policy shall read as follows:

Internet privileges may be modified and/or suspended in their entirety at the discretion of the library personnel. Internet access as well as other electronic formats are provided to individuals as a tool to obtain information. Various formats of electronic information are extended to patrons as a privilege, not as an automatic right or as an obligation of the library.
Guidelines for Use of Computers
- Patrons must check in at the circulation desk
- Anyone under the age of 12 must have a parent or guardian sign a release form to use the Internet.
- Chat Rooms and Games are not allowed.
- Users may not send, receive or display text or graphics which may be reasonably considered obscene.
- At no time will the user change the software settings, Windows setup, or move or delete icons.
- When there is any fault with equipment or materials, the user will immediately report the difficulty or problem to a staff member.
- In the Computer Lab users will be allowed to use their own personal software.
- The computer is intended for one person. Two people will be allowed when a parent or guardian is accompanying a child.
- Use of the computer will be on a first come first served basis. Users are limited to 60 minutes per day, and must sign in 35 minutes before closing.
- Library staff cannot provide in-depth training. Computer classes are available.
- Users may print out information for research and education only. Cost is $.25 per page for black and white and $1.00 per page for color.
- In the Computer Lab: Patrons must be age 13 or over to use the Internet and age16 or over to send or receive E-Mail. Children ages 10 – 12 may use the Internet if accompanied by a parent or guardian.
